8848 training is about getting in great shape to handle life’s daily challenges or as a foundation on which to then specialise in your chosen sport. We use barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells and our own bodyweight to get stronger. We run, jump, row and skip rope to get fit.
This is done in a group setting with other like minded people under the watchful eye of a qualified coach who will guide and motivate you. Whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle or just improve your general health and fitness 8848 will get you there.
Every training session is different however there is a structure to what we do. Our goal is to improve your movement (flexibility), get you stronger and make you fitter.
Your 8848 journey begins with our Elements Program: 3 Personal Training sessions that you will do alone or in a small group. You’ll learn to squat, press, deadlift, do pull ups and push ups and some elementary gymnastics exercises. This is also an opportunity for the Coach to see where your starting point is and to establish your progressions for certain movements. You’ll learn how to make progressions in each movement from beginner to more advanced.
The Elements Program is our introductory handshake to 8848. It’s like bootcamp with brains: you’ll learn new things every session, and then do a simple (but not easy) workout. We run this program to narrow the knowledge gap and allow a smooth and safe transition into our classes.
The Coaches are extremely well-educated, pleasant people who smile big while they’re motivating you. They care: they want you to find the passion for quality fitness training that they’ve found. Our Elements Program is 3 x 60-minute Personal Training sessions geared to get you ready for 8848 and are scheduled to fit in with your busy schedule. The Elements Program is included in your first month membership.
Hungry for more? Once you have completed the Elements Program then you are ready for our regular classes. These classes are held at a wide variety of times throughout the day and we are open 7 days a week (check the timetable page for more details). Our regular classes are designed to meet the needs of our large and varied community. When it comes to achieving specific goals, nothing beats personal training.
This program is 12-17 year olds. These 45 minutes sessions are every weekday at 5pm. If your child is playing a particular sport, this program will keep them from becoming too specialised, or their fitness too specific to one domain.
This program teaches your child that fitness is fun — it doesn’t have to be a chore. We want 8848 to become an integral part of a family’s daily routine, thus helping the next generation to create habits that will lead to a lifetime of health and fitness.
